The RCMP originally charged MacLeod with a slew of sexual abuse charged in June of 2024. However, the breach charge was laid in November of 2024, when MacLeod allegedly contacted the victim contrary to the conditions imposed by the Court. MacLeod is scheduled to be sentenced in July of 2025.[i]<\/a>\n\n \n\nOriginally story published on July 12, 2024:\n\nOn June 26, 2024, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police announced charges against a teacher from Tatamagouche Regional Academy, which serves as both an elementary and secondary educational institution, following allegations of sexual offences involving a student.\n\nThe RCMP investigation was initiated after the school administration contacted authorities on June 25, 2024. The investigation revealed that between May and June of this year, the teacher, identified as 36-year-old Nicole MacLeod of Murray Siding, allegedly sexually assaulted a student on multiple occasions. Additionally, it is alleged that MacLeod sent explicit photos to the same student and at least one other.\n\nMacLeod had been on leave since June 18, 2024 while the school conducted its own investigation into reports of inappropriate contact with a student.\n\nThe charges against Nicole MacLeod include sexual assault, sexual interference, sexual exploitation, luring a child, invitation to sexual touching, and making sexually explicit material available to a child. She has been released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in Truro Provincial Court on September 4 at 9:30 a.m.\n\nThe RCMP is reaching out to potential survivors and encouraging them to come forward.
