HALIFAX, NS\u2014 May 25, 2026 \u2014 Wagners Law Firm is pleased to announce that Alicia Kennedy has joined the firm, where she will lead Wagners\u2019 sexual assault and sexual abuse litigation practice<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Kennedy brings extensive experience in sexual violence\u2013related legal work. Prior to joining Wagners, she served as a Crown attorney with the Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service, where she prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases, including sexual assault matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAlicia brings a rare combination of courtroom experience, deep subject\u2011matter knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to survivors,\u201d said Ray Wagner, K.C.<\/a> \u201cHer decision to join Wagners reflects our continued focus on high\u2011impact litigation and on representing clients in cases that require both client advocacy and legal skill.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Kennedy has also held roles focused specifically on survivor support and trauma\u2011informed advocacy. She was appointed as the first staff lawyer in Nova Scotia Legal Aid\u2019s Sexual Offences Legal Representation program, a role created to provide independent legal advice and representation to survivors of sexual violence throughout the criminal justice process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to her practice, Ms. Kennedy teaches at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, where she instructs the course Law of Sexual Offences<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVictims of sexual violence face incredible barriers when they try to seek justice, and it is my privilege to assist them as they navigate these systems,\u201d said Ms. Kennedy. \u201cWagners\u2019 client\u2011first approach and commitment to advocacy made it a natural place for me to do this work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
