<\/div>\nOn July 13, 2015, Ray Wagner, Q.C. and Michael Dull along with other members of Wagners' legal team who were involved in the Nova Scotia Home for Colored Children litigation<\/a> attended at The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal, Quebec for the announcement of the winner of the 2015 Trial Lawyers of the Year Award which is an annual award offered by the Public Justice organization<\/a>.\n\nMessrs. Wagner and Dull were chosen as one of the Top 5 finalists by Public Justice for the award for their involvement on the Colored Home class action. Also attending the festivities was Harriet Johnson, one of the Representative Plaintiffs in the Colored Home<\/a> litigation. Wagners<\/a>' legal team were selected as a finalist due to their involvement and successful resolution of the claims of the former residents of the Home. The case concerning the Home was known as Elwin et al v. The Nova Scotia Home for Colored Children<\/a> and The Attorney General of Nova Scotia<\/em>.\n
\n\nPublic Justice has produced video documentaries on each of the five cases chosen as a finalist. These videos give an overview of each of the cases chosen and serve as powerful illustrations of the types of cases which were nominated for the award. The videos are available for viewing on Public Justice's website at: http:\/\/www.publicjustice.net\/news-events\/awards\/trial-lawyer-year-award<\/a>\n\nThe entire firm of Wagners<\/a> are humbled and proud to have been named as a finalist for this prestigious award. All five of the legal teams who were nominated as finalists were each involved in complex litigation and represented plaintiffs whom suffered great loss and hardship as a result of the wrongs caused to them. In each case, the plaintiffs were successful and many lives have been changed for the better due to the hard work, efforts and skill of all the litigation teams who were short-listed for the award.\n\nThe lawyers and staff at Wagners<\/a> would like to offer our sincerest congratulations to the winners of the 2015 Public Justice Trial Lawyers of the Year Award, the legal team headed by Alan Howard of the firm of Crowell & Moring based in New York.\n\nTheir work in the case of David v. Signal International<\/em>, which concerned immigrant workers and labour trafficking, was exemplary and we congratulate the entire team for the solid work that they performed on behalf of their clients.
