<\/div>\nOn Sept. 12, a 23-year-old man was killed in Nova Scotia when his car ran into a dump truck during a head-on collision. Emergency personnel responded to the scene of the car accident<\/a> on Highway 125 just after 8:00 a.m. The highway was shut down for some time after the wreck while traffic was rerouted.\n\nAuthorities are still looking into the reason for the accident but think that the impact caused the truck to flip onto its side. Both drivers were transported to a medical facility with serious injuries; however, the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Federal, provincial and local law enforcement personnel cooperated at the accident scene.\n\nAfter a fatal car accident, family members might not realize they have legal options. Even if the authorities didn't charge the responsible driver, the family could still pursue a civil lawsuit. They might be able to seek financial compensation for their actual losses and the expenses associated with the hospital bills and the funeral.\n\nIn addition, a personal injury attorney<\/a> might be able to review their case and see if the family could request damages for pain and suffering. An attorney might try to work out a settlement with the involved parties in order to keep the case out of court, which can sometimes help the process of recovering damages flow more smoothly.
