These are a mandatory part of your car insurance, listed under \u201cSection B \u2013 Mandatory Accident Benefits,\u201d and they provide funding for several different types of expenses.\n\nIn accidents involving a fatality, these benefits provide a payout known as death benefits, though the amount depends upon that person\u2019s role in the family. If death results within 180 days of an accident (or within 104 weeks if there\u2019s been a continuous issue caused by the collision), then the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wagners.co\/blog\/motor-vehicle-accident-section-b-benefits\/\" title=\"Motor Vehicle Accident &#8211; Section B Benefits\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"57988\">section B<\/a> of insurance will pay <strong>up to $25,000<\/strong> as partial compensation for the loss of the family member, provided the deceased is the head of household or spouse of the head of household.
