Maillet is facing allegations of sexual assault, dating back as far as 1968, and as recently as 2003. The Codiac RCMP have spoken to victims and witnesses over the last few weeks that have shared information about alleged incidents.\u00a0 The investigation began last August 2021, when the RCMP received a complaint about sexual assault incidents that involved a Maillet at \u00c9cole Champlain elementary school in Moncton between 1987 and 1988.\n\nApril 4, 2022, Maillet was charged in Moncton Provincial Court with invitation to sexual touching, sexual assault, and acts of gross indecency. He was released on conditions, pending a future court date. There is a court \u2013 imposed publication on any information that could possibly identify the victim.
