A pizza delivery driver has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman during a delivery to her apartment. The Dartmouth woman alleges that a pizza delivery driver had assaulted her during a pizza delivery two years ago. During the transaction stage of the delivery things started to get strange. The woman had testified on Monday at the man’s trial in Dartmouth provincial court. The Accused Jainish Sureshkuma Patel of Halifax is alleged to have sexually assaulted the woman during the pizza delivery at her apartment in Highfield Park in May 2020. On June 2, 2020, The police were notified after the woman had attended the Dartmouth General Hospital for a sexual assault examination. (1)
June 4, 2020, Patel had been arrested and charged with sexual assault. The complainant age 56 who’s identity is protected by a publication ban had testified from behind a screen in order to shield her from looking at the defendant.
The crown’s final witness, a DNA expert is expected to testify Tuesday via a video link from Ottawa.
