Jenkins v. General Motors of Canada et al

Wagners commenced a proposed class action on behalf of individuals who owned a Volkswagen manufactured vehicle that used sophisticated illegal software in certain models that turned fuel emissions controls on only during official regulatory or other testing. At all other times, the emissions controls are suppressed. The action was filed on November 27, 2015 in the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia in Halifax.

Updates & Latest Developments

A national settlement was approved by the Superior Courts of Ontario and Quebec in March 2017.

Wagners are monitoring the ongoing developments concerning the Volkswagen Emissions scandal. A number of proposed class actions have been filed across Canada, including the action that we have filed in Nova Scotia.

Wagners have filed a class action with the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia in Halifax with respect to the emissions defeat device software which was installed in numerous makes and models of vehicles manufactured by Volkswagen and branded as VW, Porsche and Audi automobiles.
